United States Of America Democracy Lost
That there is the problem. I address all of Capitol Hill with this information. Once again you have done a cowardly incompetent job for America. If the Democrats win they want to socialize America if the Republicans win corporate America wins. Either way which ever party wins the Amercian people lose.
Neither party is a viable solution. The American lanscape today is the result of Government incompetence. Both parties are only interested in their own well being not the American people.
With all the party campaign finance and lobbyist money given to each party which eqauls hundreds of millions of dollars how can they possibly serve America. They owe favors not to the people but their campaign contributors which happens to be corporations.
Politicians are scared to speak for the people because they are to busy bowing down to big money. Corporations should not be running this country which is who is really in charge.
So the questions is if cororations are running things then are we really a democracy? The American people have become 2nd place to big corporate money and interets. So I think the answer to that question is no we are not a democracy anymore.
Sure the American people can vote on issues at the state level. But when it comes to issues at the National level the American citizen has no vote or say in the direction of the country. Corporate money and politicians make those decisions. When they make those kinds of decisions the people and the country lose.
We can thank our cowardly, incompetent politicians in Washington for selling us out to corporate interests. Corporate interest make the political decisions not the politicians.
Evan today with the economy and the shape the country is in they
ares still bowing down to big money. People are still losing jobs, losing their houses and losing any sense of dignity of being an American citizen.
The Declaration Of Independence was brought about to avoid this kind of takeover. That document is now useless and void. It has no more meaning.
America’s future is unknown and that is the scary part. Thank you Capitol Hill for making this country’s future not bright but dark and unknown.
Merry Christmas (Part #1)
So just what is a “Merry Christmas”? Is it something less or something more than a “Happy Holiday”? What IS Christmas anyway? Isn’t Christmas what it’s always been: whatever we individually choose to make it? But then there’s the broader social picture wherein governments have a SAY in what Christmas is and is not.
Once upon a time, Christmas in America was all about what Jews and Christians (Protestants and Catholics) said it was.
However, the world is much smaller these days and the “IN” word is GLOBAL and globalization. We’re not that far removed from the Copenhagen Summit to forget that are we? The third world nations, the under-developed nations, the dictatorial nations, and a mix of adjectives attached to some 175 nations now want a SAY in everything.
Global warming is right there with Christmas!
America isn’t what she was fifty years ago, nor even a decade ago. The Obama administration is moving America from a capitalistic free enterprise nation into a socialistic secular one. The increase in diversity due to immigration and mobility of the planet’s citizens is making America a less white Anglo Saxon Christian nation. And every segment of this diverse enterprise called America is getting a massive make-over.
We are not of one nature on December 25th and then something else on January 25th.
We are who we are and that is very fluid and dynamic. The grand experiment called the United States of America is wrestling with birth pangs. The caterpillar that we were, is dissolving in a chemical soup that will produce we know not what- yet! Let us hope it’s something beautiful.
No Fiscal Stimulus Exit For India Yet
The Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee made it clear today that the Indian government was not planning to exit from the fiscal stimulus packages rolled out in September 2008 in the wake of the global financial crisis.
“I am not thinking of any exit strategy right now. I will take a view on it as and when we are convinced that the economy has come out of the worst situation and is in the firm path of recovery,” Mr. Mukherjee was quoted as saying in the Hindu Business Line.
The finance minister highlighted that he had also advised the G-20 leaders along the same lines. He had said at the last G-20 meeting that it would be better for each country concerned to take a call on the timing of the exit depending on their respective special circumstances, as each country was affected by the financial crisis at different points of time.
Mr. Mukherjee said that India’s return to the 9 percent trajectory will depend not only on recovery in India but also recovery in the world economy. Nearly 60 percent of the country’s merchandise exports are to the Europe and North America. “Unless there is robust recovery of demand for goods and services there, it would be difficult for us to get to the 30 percent growth in exports recorded in recent years. It is difficult to predict when we will return to 9 percent GDP growth levels. It will take a year or little more than that,” he said.
